Where unauthorised works to a listed building are known to have taken place or are suspected have been undertaken, JME Conservation is able to advise clients on the implications of such works and how best to try to resolve the issues arising from them
A listed building is defined within the 1990 Planning, (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act as a nationally important building included on the register of listed buildings compiled by the government. A listed building includes not only the principal building but also other buildings or structures within its curtilage (on the same site). Listing protects the building inside and out and it is a criminal offence to carry out unauthorised works to a listed building.
