David Haigh

David joined the company in May 2013 from South Gloucestershire Council where he managed a team of specialist planning officers and providing specialist advice on all aspects of the historic environment. After working as a field archaeologist and project director for several local authorities, English Heritage and Historic Scotland, he trained in historic building conservation working for Cambridgeshire and Shropshire County Council before joining South Gloucestershire Council in 1996.

David combines specialist knowledge of historic building conservation and archaeology with a thorough understanding of heritage assets and their assessment through the planning process. David holds an Honours degree in Ancient History & Archaeology, an MA in English Local History, a Graduate Diploma in Historic Building Conservation from the Architectural Association, and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and a Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation. He sits on the Gloucester Diocesan Advisory Committee.
